Open Source Tool Kit

The Open Source Tool Kit is the initial supported release of Open Source tools for Open UNIX 8 Release 8.0.

The Open Source Tool Kit (OSTK) is

• logical follow-on to the Skunkware programs

• a release of supported add-on products for Caldera SVR5 UNIX operating systems

• latest released version of each tool

• works alongside the OUDK 8.0 or UDK 7.1.1 (with these caveats)

  • uses native linker and C runtime

  • GNU C objects and OUDK objects can be intermixed

  • C++ objects or libraries CANNOT be intermixed.

• GNU bison 1.28 GNU parser generator (yacc replacement)A

The Open Source Tool Kit can be installed and is supported on Open UNIX 8 Release 8.0 and UnixWare 7 Release 7.1.1.

It is not supported on any UnixWare 7 release prior to Release 7.1.1, but users may, at their discretion, chose to experiment with the tools on earlier releases.
