Network User License (NUL) Monitor

The Network User License (NUL) Monitor reports the number of NULs active on a network.

If you register your system, The SCO Group will upgrade your user licenses to Network User Licenses (NULs). NULs are user licenses that you apply to all of the systems at your site allowing your users to login to any UnixWare 7 or Open UNIX 8 server on your network; each user ID will only count as a single user (from a licensing standpoint) no matter how many sessions they open. Standard User Licenses (default Licenses) will count every login session as a separate user against your license. For example, if user "Joe" logs into the system from 3 different terminals, that would count as 3 users against your license. If you register and upgrade to NULs, "Joe" would only count as 1 user against your license. See UNRESOLVED XREF-0 for more information on registration.

The NUL Monitor allows tracking and conformance to license terms by providing reports on concurrent users and NUL limits. It is intended for administrators who are aware of the terms of their license agreements as well as their network configuration. The Open UNIX 8 NUL Monitor utility is available on the Open UNIX 8 Updates CD (CD 2) and from the UNIX products download site at: http://www.sco.com/support/download.html. See UNRESOLVED XREF-0 for more information and installation instructions.
