Using the SVR5 ndcert test suites

TCP STRESS and SPX STRESS test suites

Synopses:
auto_tcp all
auto_spx all

Configuration files:
nd-tcp.cfg
nd-spx.cfg

Test suite names:
nd-tcp
nd-spx

Summary:
These two tests stress test the underlying network over either the TCP or SPX transport portocol, testing the datarecv and datasend features.

Both tests use multiple slave machines. Processes are run simultaneously on the master machine and on the slave machines:

The tests pass if they run succesfully without any errors for a fixed period of time, specified by the STRESS_TIME configuration variable.

Media types:
All

Init state:
3

Executing machine(s)
Master. Up to 9 slave machines can be configured on the network for use in these tests but the tests are only executed on the Master.

Execution time:
Default is 4 hours; longer execution times can be specified with the STRESS_TIME configuration variable.

Number of test cases:
2

Number of invokable scenarios:
1

Configuration variables:
The parameters for this test are set only on the master machine since the test is not run on the slave machine.

STRESS_TIME
Amount of time, in minutes, to test the network. Default and minimum value is 240 minutes (4 hours).

NODECOUNT
Number of machines on the network used to run the test. Default and minimum value is 2; maximum value is 10 (1 master and 9 slaves).

NODE0
The full name of the master machine on which the driver being tested is installed. For the auto_tcp test, specify the full domain name; for the auto_spx test, the machine name must not be the full domain name.

NODE1 through NODE9
The names of the slave machines on the network used to run the test. For the auto_tcp test, specify full domain names; for the auto_spx test, the machine names must not be full domain names.
