Recovering damaged folders

If for some reason, a mail folder gets damaged to the point that it cannot be read, there is a mail folder recovery tool. To recover a folder that is damaged use the following command:

mfck mailfolder

mailfolder is the path to the mail folder file. This command will display each error detected in the mail folder file and ask if you wish that error corrected.

Alternately, use the -y option to correct all errors without asking (although the errors will still be displayed):

mfck -y mailfolder

If you just want to check if a folder has errors, then use the -n flag:

mfck -n mailfolder
