Configuring the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP)

VJ compression options

The following options define how a bundle uses VJ compression:

Use VJ compression
Whether Van Jacobson (VJ) header compression should be used.

NOTE: VJ header compression is not recommended for PPP over ISDN links.

Use slot compression
Whether slot compression should be used if VJ header compression is enabled. Slot compression is suitable when the transport may be unreliable but the asyh driver can report lost frames. Select No if a third-party framing driver cannot report frame loss.

Number of available slots
The maximum number of slots available to the VJ header compression algorithm.
