Using DFS commands and files

Mounting and unmounting

Any whole or partial filesystem can be exported to an NFS client. The client either uses the mount command to access files on an as-needed basis, or adds an entry to the configuration file fstab. These techniques are respectively called ``explicit'' and ``automatic'' mounting. Once mounted, access to files is transparent, as they appear to be a normal part of the local filesystem. This topic describes the DFS tools used to carry out these tasks.

Note that the commands described in this topic are located in /usr/sbin. Ensure your $PATH variable is set properly to use these commands conveniently.
