Setting up NIS

Obtaining map information

Users can obtain information from and about the NIS maps at any time by using the commands ypcat(1nis), ypwhich(1nis), and ypmatch(1nis). In the examples that follow, mapname refers to the official name of the map or to its alias, if any. The examples are not exhaustive, and you should consult the respective manual pages for these commands for additional information.

To obtain information about other domains, use the -d option with these commands.
