The choices for any network adapter are either IEEE 802.n framing or Ethernet II framing. If your network adapter is Token Ring then the frame format must be IEEE 802.n; otherwise the default frame format may depend on the capabilities of the network adapter. If you reconfigure a network adapter, the setting defaults to the previously configured value.
The frame format selected should match that in general use on your local network.
