Component names and component documentation

Each component has one or more manual pages. Section 1C++ manual pages describe tools, Section 3C++ manual pages describe components and Section 4C++ manual pages describe file formats. Most of the components also have a tutorial in this topic.

You will find several tutorials named No More ... Errors. Each of these shows how a particular tool or component can be used to simplify a certain programming task, thereby eliminating a particular class of programming errors. Of course, errors can be made in using the components, or in a related aspect of the task not covered by the component; programming errors can never be eliminated completely. However, C++ Standard Components provides a much more reliable framework for dealing with these programming tasks than the bare C or C++ language.

For those components and tools that do not have tutorials, the manual pages provide sufficient explanatory material to guide you in using the component or tool.
